Please remember that we will have Stations of the Cross here at 18h00 on Friday. We also have our Lenten Faith-Sharing group on Sunday at 16h00 (please see overleaf). As part of our Parish Lenten Retreat, this weekend Fr Joseph Bailham OP will preach an extended sermon at the 10h00 and 11h30 Masses. We will then have Eucharistic Adoration from 12h30 to 16h00. As mentioned in an email earlier, we need watchers for this. Please sign up!
As part of our Lenten devotions, Westminster Cathedral Choir will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's retelling of St John Passion. The event will take place on Thursday 14th March 2024 at 19h30 at Westminster Cathedral. This is a wonderful chance to hear the Cathedral’s superb choir performing one of the greatest pieces of Easter music ever written. I would like to introduce formally the fact that Sister Alejandra Guerrero of the Marcelina Sisters is now our Youth Coordinator. She brings to our Parish a wealth of knowledge, experience, faith and of course her delightful manner. We are very fortunate indeed to have her. Together with Mary she ran a wonderful session on Living a Good Lent for Teenagers last Saturday. If you didn’t attend, you missed out! She will arrange other sessions soon so please keep an eye on the newsletter and on posters. We have asked those who attended to bring along at least one friend to the next gathering. These are opportunities to socialise with other young Catholics and to build a community of teenage Catholics here at St Mary’s.
We urgently need someone to VOLUNTEER TO BE AN ALTAR SERVER COORDINATOR. The person does not necessarily need to serve themselves but would ideally have a feel for Liturgy. The person needs to be over 18 and we will DBS you as our Safeguarding protocol requires. The role involves ensuring the servers are organised and so means keeping a roster of servers and making sure they are kitted out correctly. We are also hoping to attract an experienced server to be involved in training. PLEASE GET IN TOUCH! WE NEED YOU!
I am going to Liverpool from Monday to Wednesday. I will celebrate Mass at 09h00 on Monday and then at 12h00 on Thursday.
